The boys room

While my parents were here I redecorated the boys room. When we first moved in three years ago, I intended to paint the boys room. It was a warm yellow...actually a great color that I would possibly use in another room...but it was never the color I wanted in my boys' room...too bright...too energetic...they need something more calming. But I've needed inspiration. Finally, I found it. I was in Hobby Lobby a couple of weeks ago, looking for baskets for my new bench, and I found this fabric. I got a swatch and couldn't stop thinking about it. So I decided to pick a paint color that matched. Last Wednesday while my parents could take care of the boys, I painted the room. Then on Thursday I made pillows and on Friday I made curtains. I'm so excited about their room. Will is going to get a bunk bed (we won't bunk it yet) for his birthday. He'll have a matching comforter. I still plan on painting their chests. The "new" one from the Habitat Store I'm going to paint white and get some wood knobs and paint them apple green. The other two I'm going to paint a navy blue and find some new hardware...maybe something in brushed nickel. I'm either going to put their names back over their beds, or I'm going to get a canvas picture of each of them...but I'm waiting until those go on sale.
